Indecision may or may not be my problem…

I have once again come to point of complete and udder indecisiveness. I have found my DREAM venue… but the problem is I have already paid for another venue. Granted I feel sure I can get my money back from venue 1, now I have to decide if I really want venue 2 versus the one I have paid for. Let’s do a comparison.

Venue 1:

Venue 2:

(minus the Walt and Brooke and decorations, they are not permanent)

in retrospect I feel that venue 2 may be the “safer” option being as though it is indoors so I will not need a plan B if it rains and it in downtown Conway, SC and will be easier to find. Venue 1 has so much potential and would make some GORGEOUS pictures. If the weather doesn’t permit a tent will need to be rented at the last minute and I will have to pray there is wiggle room in the budget for such a last minute detail. The price of Venue 1 is cheaper than Venue 2; Venue 1  was $500 and Venue 2 is $1,000. Either venue will require me to rent tables and chairs so equally that has to be figured in. Venue 2 comes equipped with a dance floor, which Venue 1 does not have. Venue 2 also does not have air conditioning… which neither does good ol’ mother nature of Venue 1. Plus… Ryan and I both like Venue 2 better. Venue 2 is so much like Poplar Grove Plantation that I originally fell in love with but could not even imagine booking due to the $3,200 price tag that came with it.

I am going to look at Venue 2 on Sunday with Ryan and our wedding planner Melissa, hopefully after looking at it we can sit down and talk and see if everything I would like will fit into the budget with this $500 cost increase on the venue. That will really be the deciding factor; I want to have the wedding I want and within my budget. The question is do I settle for a venue that I like and is cheaper… or do I go with a venue that I am right now LOVING but is a little more expensive?

Also I am thinking of nailing down a real palette of colors. Here’s what I have found that I really love.

I’m more than likely going to go with the first one because it has that vintage feel that I like while still being happy and like spring time. I would ideally like to put all of my girls in different dresses and colors… but I may just do different dresses and all the same color except my MOH. Ryan and his groomsmen are still going to wear khaki colored dress pants, a white button down with rolled up sleeves, colored bowties, suspenders, and burlap Toms. That is what Ryan has wanted all along, and the look has really grown on me.

We have so much time, and so much left to do. I am still beyond  excited for this day to come and even more excited to put my dress back on. I cannot wait for it to finally come in so I can show my MOH, who was unable to be with me when I went dress shopping, and to decide on hair, makeup, and jewelry. These are really the most exciting times of my life and I am so happy to be sharing my life with an amazing man and some of the best friends a girl could ever ask for.

And the countdown continues… ❤

the out of towners.

Ryan and I have been out of town in Myrtle Beach, SC; that’s why I haven’t posted in quite some time. It was nice to get away and not have to think and/or do anything dealing with a wedding.

On last Tuesday the 14th, my wedding planner Melissa, my MOH Brittany, and I went looking for Bridesmaids dresses. We went to Carolina Bridal World in Smithfield, NC since it’s closer to where my MOH lives. We found some gorgeous dresses… now onto picking one. Here are a few that I like. image

all of these dresses looked AMAZING on Brittany. I am going to have such a hard time narrowing down the choices. I want to be able to give my girls choices, but I also want them to be things that I like too. So we will see how well that goes.

On the following day Ryan an did a cake tasting for our wedding cake flavors. We chose to try red velvet, vanilla, key lime, and pink lemonade. We will more than likely go with red velvet for our cake and Ryan really wants the pink lemonade for his grooms cake… which is interesting being as though it is pink.

It was a good flavor though, certainly interesting, but good. These wedding plans are moving right along, and I hope to get a lot done this summer while I only have 3 classes that I am taking this summer so when the fall comes I won’t be so busy being as though I will have 6 classes. I am very much looking forward to being in single digits for a wedding countdown… but until then I have 341 days until I become Mrs. Ryan Green!

wedding planning always keeps me up too late!

Sadly I haven’t been able to anything wedding related this last week and I have had to move the day of bridesmaid dress shopping due to my MOH having to work this weekend. So Ryan and I have two big things to do next week. We’re bridesmaid dress shopping on Tuesday and Cake tasting on Wednesday… I am excited to do something!

I know I have somewhat explained the look I am going for in my wedding, but I know many people like visuals. I really want a country rustic chic look. My venue is very country, it has horses everywhere, I will be riding in a horse drawn carriage to the aisle, and plus… I’m getting married in front of a barn. I want it all to be cohesive. So here are some ideas that I like.

My entire wedding is going to be outside, basically in the middle of nowhere. My venue is no where near the city and at least a quarter of a mile down a dirt road off the main highway. I am in love with it, and in love with all of these ideas. My wedding dress also fits very very well with this theme, but I will not be posting a picture of my dress until after I get married!

I don’t want the typical wedding. I don’t want a seating chart, or my guests sitting on my side, his guests sitting on his side, plated meals, etc… I want something really casual and light. That does not mean jeans and t-shirts, but not black tie either. Most southerners believe in dressing nice to church, so we’ll go with Sunday causal.

Hands down I have the BEST fiance’. He doesn’t care what I do with this wedding. He does help me with some things, other things he is less interested in; but overall he just tells me to let him know what he is wearing and what time to be there. Which I like in a way, but his opinion means a lot to me.

I am loving planning this wedding… but I am honestly ready to be a married woman. Who doesn’t want to spend forever with the man of their dreams?

So… now it’s time to start trying to find a cake design I like and start tasting some cakes. Ryan and I have an appointment on May 15th to go taste four different flavors of our choosing. We decided on Yellow, Red Velvet, Key Lime, and Pink Lemonade ( and it’s PINK!). So I’ll let y’all in on how that goes later 😉

But on to styles… I think I want it to kind of match my dress either with color or style. My dress is empire waist with a ruffled bottom. Above are some cake styles that I like. The last four are my FAVORITE! I’m pretty sure I don’t want the whole cake to be ruffled, but I think one or two ruffled tiers would be good! What do y’all think?

I somewhat feel like by the end of the year I won’t have any other wedding planning to do… and that makes me kinda sad! But I’m fairly sure I will have plenty to do right up until the wedding!!

Come on April 25th, 2014! I am beyond ready to walk down the isle to my prince charming ❤

I’m not going to lie… getting engaged changed things between Ryan and I. Maybe not for him, but for me it did. I’m not sure why, or what I felt like I was stressing over. Things are back to normal now, no actually, they are better than normal. I have never felt more in love than I do at this point in my life. I have been able to relieve a lot of my stress and am no longer stressing over the little details of the wedding. I can now just focus on my soon to be husband, my schooling, and staring at my ring (which I NEVER get tired of doing!!).  My love for Ryan is deeper than I could have ever imagined that it could be.

On another note… we went and looked for wedding bands the other day. I knew finding one for my ring would be difficult. Ryan didn’t know what he wanted, but the second place we went and look we both found EXACTLY what we wanted and needed. Ryan found a ring that he loves and can’t wait to wear (which makes me beyond excited). We also found a band that fits PERFECTLY around my ring, Ryan is actually buying me two, one to go around each side of my band.

These rings make me so excited and I honestly cannot wait until next April! I will be committing my life to the one I love the most in this world, and I couldn’t be happier!

monograms, wine, and bridesmaid gifts.

well as I sit here drinking a HUGE glass of wine I am so glad to be done with my final exams and to be out of school for two weeks. It will be nice to come home and no longer have to do homework! I can now focus on looking at some wedding things and get as much done in these two weeks as I can, school starts back on the 20th and runs until July 16. Wedding planning while working full time and going to school full time is difficult and I never feel like I have the time to do it all… but it will all come together and I know it will work out perfectly.

So…I just purchased my very first monogrammed item with my soon-to-be initials. I know it may be a little hasty, but it’s only a phone case. I wanted a new one and I just didn’t see the point in buying one with my current initials because after next April I won’t use it! image

On another note, I am looking for bridesmaid gifts. I have found some things that I like. I will more than likely wait a while, maybe I can find some good deals after thanksgiving! I would ideally like to give them all a bag/basket full of little things and personalized things. I know all of these girls well and would like to get them each things special to them and to fit each of their personalities. I guess more like a welcome bag, but kind not really haha! I’m thinking my favorite bottle of wine, some body scrub, a koozie, maybe some bath and body works, all in a cute bag 🙂 I have plenty of time to decide, but buying stuff along the way seems so much cheaper than all at once!

This weekend my wedding planner, Maid of Honor Brittany, and I are going to look for bridesmaid dresses. I really want Brittany to be my model and her opinion is crucial to me about my ideas. I would like to at least know what my vision is by the time all of my girls and I go looking for their dresses. I know they will do whatever I want them to.. but I want them to have a choice.  This is the style I am going for.image

so my girls will have a choice of color and style which I, personally, would love to have as a bridesmaid. I want them to all have a dress that flatters them individually and not forced into a dress they feel uncomfortable in.

Ryan and I are spending the weekend in Raleigh for this reason and to celebrate his 25th birthday which is on Wednesday. I plan on taking him out for a nice dinner, we’ll get to spend some time away from home and in a different place. I love the beach, but we will be going the weekend of the 16-18th so I don’t wanna do that for his birthday weekend too.

I am looking forward to this summer full of wedding stuff!

yet again another change!

so… I have made Ryan and I a new wedding website. The old one is going to be deleted in a few days. My new site is really more geared towards mobile usage as it have so many more features on the mobile site such as polls to decide some very important aspects of the wedding! Here is the site, if any of you want to check out the online version, if you want to download the app to see what’s different use the code 06076. I am excited about it though and this will be the LAST wedding website I make! This was a lot of work but I love the end result.

I haven’t posted a post in a while as I am immersed in final exams and I am so ready for all of this to be over. I BEASTED my final today, I made 100. Tomorrows exam doesn’t even count towards my final grade… how awesome is that? Either way… May 6th cannot come fast enough!
